Designing for a Better Future

As the Head of Design for a rapid COVID testing device, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Telophase, a company contracted by NASA. This project began at the onset of the pandemic, and throughout its development, I collaborated closely with engineers and other team members via virtual meetings and VR showcases due to remote work requirements.

My Role and Design Process

During my time as the Head of Design, I led the creation and design of the rapid COVID testing device from concept to completion. My design process involved several key steps:

• Storyboarding: I began by visualizing and outlining the device's functionality and user experience through storyboarding, ensuring that the design was both intuitive and practical.

‍

• Collaboration: I engaged in regular virtual meetings and VR showcases with engineers and other team members to discuss design ideas, gather feedback, and refine the device's design.

‍

• Concept Development: Based on these discussions and feedback, I iteratively developed and refined the device's design, ensuring that it met the project requirements and goals.

‍

• Final Design: Once the design was approved, I worked closely with the engineering team to finalize the device's specifications and prepare it for production.

A Successful Outcome

‍

The collaboration with Telophase resulted in a successful rapid COVID testing device that met the project's objectives and was well-received by all parties involved. The entire process not only demonstrated my versatility as a designer but also showcased my ability to adapt and thrive in challenging situations.
